Over the summer I haven't really done much code at all, and I have a coding class this year so I just want to make sure I'm not starting from square one in the class, because honestly, that would suck. I've decided to just talk about how summer during the Big 'Rona has been like & what I've done to pass the time.

What's It Been Like?

A bit weird. In the beginning everything was going good but then after a while it just got boring. I did enjoy spending time with my cat, and being able to do school work at my own pace, but it just got repetitive. I wasn't able to spend very much time with anyone other than family, which was good and bad at the same time. While I do love my family, after spending 1 month at home we were starting to become easily aggravated. Thankfully, I noticed and started doing things to help them so that we could get along better.

Time Passing Hobbies

I have had hobbies pretty much all my life, & during quarentine I was able to invest more time in them. My hobbies include:

Viola

Viola, the XL-version of the violin. I started playing it in the 4th grade in our school orchestra. I remember sitting in the gym hearing the teacher play it and I was like "Hey, that sounds really nice, I want to be able to do that." and thats where it started. Since then I've been in the Alton Youth Symphony (AYS) and other music groups for "those youngsters". I have also gone through a few different teachers for private lessons, and I'm currently with a fenomenal teacher who is actually one of the conductors for AYS. I love playing the viola and want to continue it through college and maybe become a private lessons teacher at some point.

Rockets

I like rockets a lot, always have. I've made a few and launched them using the KNO3 (Potassium Nitrate) & Sugar (or sorbitol). The rockets aren't amazing, but I did get one to go around 200 feet (70m) up, which I am proud of. My goal is to someday get one past the 1/2-mile mark, and retrieve it. I want to have an on board camera too, so that I can capture the view and show my kids or something.
